Aquarium Water:
You do clean your aquarium quite often – right? So, while cleaning your aquarium next time, keep aside some amount of water. Water your plants with this aquarium water as fish waste consists of valuable nutrients that make a great plant fertilizer.
Grounded Coffee:
Coffee is a common beverage that is found easily at home. You can use the grounded coffee and sprinkle on the topsoil and follow with regular watering. Or you can make some black coffee and let it cool down before pouring it into your plant pot.
Cooking Water:
Have you ever thought that cooking water can be used as an organic or natural plant fertilizer? So, when after you have boiled your vegetables like potatoes, carrots, spinach, or eggs and even pasta, don’t just throw away the water. Green Tea Mix:
Put 1 teabag of green tea to 2 gallons of warm water and let it cool down. Now transfer this to a spray bottle and feed your plant and plant-soil every 4 weeks.
Epsom Salt:
Take 1 tablespoon of Epsom salt and mix that with 1 gallon of water. Transfer this water into a sprayer bottle and apply once a month to the foliage plants. This mix has an amazing amount of magnesium and sulfur which would keep the plants fresh and healthy.
Gelatin:
Gelatin is actually a great source of nitrogen. All you have to do is dissolve 1 packet of gelatin in 1 cup of hot water and then add 3 cups of cold water. Allow some time to cool in case the water is still mildly hot or put some more cold water. Now pour this gelatin water directly on the soil around your plants once a month. You will see amazing results.
Hair:
If you have hair then there will definitely be hair fall – that is natural. There are always at least 2-10 hair strands of hair that will come off while brushing your hair. Don’t throw them here and there or in a dust bin. Instead, collect them and cut them to small lengths in case they are very lengthy. Now mix them with your soil because hair will release nutrients and nitrogen into the soil. You can use dog hair, horse hair, and cat hair too.
Powdered Milk:
Many households prefer to use powdered milk to make their tea or coffee. So, you can mix this powdered milk with soil before planting and see amazing result. Powdered milk contains a good amount of calcium and thus your plant will shine and stay in great health!
