Have you ever wondered why this plant is called the Money Plant?

It is called a money plant because of its round, plumb, flat leaves that might with a bit of imagination look like a coin.

Also, there is a popular story about the origin of the money plant related to a poor man from Taiwan. He was in a deep problem and prayed to God for relief from his financial burdens. One day he found a plant in his garden, which was seen by him as a solution to all his problems. As a result of his prayers, care, and nurturing, that plant yielded seeds, nuts, and more plants. He sold those plants that put an end to his money issues. That’s why money plants are also given as a gift in the hope of bringing good luck and prosperity to friends, family, and relatives.

Where to place the money plant in your house as per Feng Shui?

According to Feng Shui, money plants should never be kept in the North-East direction. It leads to loss of money in the house and affects the health of the family members adversely. Ideally, a money plant should be kept in the south-east direction. As this is the direction of Lord Ganesha, it is known to bring health, peace, and prosperity.

It is also believed that a money plant bears maximum benefits when it is grown inside the house rather than outside. For married couples living together, they should avoid keeping the money plant in the east-west direction. It can lead to fights and arguments between them.

The money plant denotes actual money. The greener your money plant, the more money you will get in the house. It is also said the more leaves your money plant has, the more money you will have. You should not let the stems and leaves of the money plant fall onto the floor; it is considered to be highly inauspicious.

Since the leaves of money plants are heart-shaped, it is known to bring love and happiness in the family. Growing a money plant at home also improves relationships between the members of the house.
