The story is highlighted in ancient literature of Tamil and ever since the flower has been tied in knots with him.

Another story which linked the fresh florals to the mighty god is the tale of Parijat. It is believed that Nyctanthes Arbortristis or Night-flowering Jasmine was brought from heaven by Lord Krishna himself to maintain peace between his two wives Satyabhama and Rukmini. The tree was planted in Satyabhama space in a way that whenever the tree shed Jasmine, it automatically fell in Rukmini’s courtyard.
